The place of production of BIO-FROST is situated in one of the largest areas under cultivation for wholefood products. We have a close relationship to our farmers, we communicate each day and visit each other, too. Those farmers are organised by the marketing association Bioland Vermarktungsgesellschaft Schleswig-Holstein GmbH & Co. KG, which is the main contractual partner for our raw products. This association has assigned an adviser and extension worker who supports and counsels the farmers on the one hand and on the other hand checks them beside the verification of the EU and the federation.
If a farmer delivers BIO-FROST, he has to have a valid certification, which shows all important dates such as product, area, EWG-declaration and many other information. Our products are in charges and each packing can be allocated to a certain farmer and cultivation area. Thus every produced kilogram is traceable which means a high degree of transparency.

The label shows the product-name, for example BIO TK (TK stands for frozen foods) Hokkaido. As we are not using any additives in processing this declaration corresponds to 100% to the content. Other information such as expiration- and production-date, sort sequence, identification code of the farmer, product, cultivated area, charge, control-number and processing-factory guarantee a high degree of transparency.
Why are products sometimes no available?
We are always trying to have all products which are shown in our catalogue in stock. Sometimes a product is sought-after more than we can calculate, sometimes the bad weather leads to delivery-problems. But normally we are able to deliver because of a large buffer stock. If you need larger amounts, it can profitable to contract the goods before sowing so we can provide the area for the delivery.
Where do the BIO-FROST raw products come from?
We just process products from organic cultivation in accordance with EWG 2092/91. Organic raw products are processed from companies like Bioland, Demeter, Naturland, Gea. Customers, who want special goods can be delivered from our pool of farmers, who have their cultivation area near by. About 90% of all vegetables come from Schleswig-Holstein in the very north of Germany. Raw product deliverers for marrow, onions and zuchini are mostly found in south Germany.
How many products includes the BIO-FROST assortment ?
The situation of organic raw products is in general depended on the weather conditions. As contract goods with Bioland Schleswig-Holstein we offer the following vegetables: cauliflower, calabrese, peas, potatoes, marrow, carrots, parnship beetroot, strawberries, sweet corn, onions, celeriac, fennel. These are exclusively produced for BIO-FROST Westhof GmbH.
